Happy Even After and its Connecticut family law lawyers are excited to open its From Conflict to Growth Scholarship up to new applicants. This scholarship promises $2,500 to a student who can candidly discuss the way their parents’ divorce impacted their trajectory in life.
Students in all areas of study have until September 30, 2025, to complete their scholarship essays and submit them for the scholarship selection committee’s consideration.
Happy Even After takes pride in making the difficulties of divorce more manageable for families going through them. The team is excited to extend a helping hand to students who’ve overcome the challenges of divorce proceedings and forged a new life for themselves.
Who Is Eligible?
Happy Even After wants undergraduate and graduate students from all majors and areas of study to apply for the From Conflict to Growth Scholarship. Students who are accepted at or enrolled at an accredited United States college, university, and/or graduate school may submit their applications for the team’s consideration.
All applicants must agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions and submit all necessary application materials if they want their applications to move forward. The team encourages students to upload their scholarship essays in PDF format for ease of reading.
Scholarship Essay Topic
Divorce is a life-changing experience that can bring uncertainty for children. However, it can also be a turning point for personal growth, independence, and emotional strength. We invite applicants to share their personal experiences and reflections on how their parents’ divorce shaped their ability to overcome adversity.
To participate, write an essay of up to 1,000 words in which you share your experience with the divorce, describing the most difficult aspects of the transition. Explain how you initially coped with these changes and the emotions you faced during this time. Then, explore the lessons in resilience that emerged from this experience.
How to Craft a Strong Scholarship Essay
When composing your scholarship essay, our team encourages you to include:
- A catchy and original title
- A bibliography, if necessary
- In-line citations, if necessary
We also ask that students use a header that includes:
- The student’s full name
- The name of the From Conflict to Growth Scholarship
- The name of the student’s university, college, and/or graduate school
- The student’s academic ID number
- The mailing address for that institution’s financial aid office
- The email address for the financial aid office
- The phone number for the financial aid office
Students should save their scholarship essays via the following naming scheme: “[Scholarship Name and Year] – [Student Name]”.
From Conflict to Growth Scholarship AI Policy
Happy Even After asks that students refrain from using AI to generate a scholarship essay wholesale. The inappropriate use of AI to create a scholarship essay will see a student’s application removed from the applicant pool.
We want to read original stories composed by students who’ve carefully thought about the From Conflict to Growth Scholarship’s essay questions.
Students have until September 30, 2025, to complete their scholarship essays and submit them for Happy Even After’s consideration. Unfortunately, the team cannot accept incomplete applications or applications submitted after this deadline.
The team reserves up to three months after the scholarship’s closing date to select its winner. We ask that neither students nor their families contact Happy Even After for updates on the status of a student’s application. The team cannot provide information about the application assessment process.
If the team has any further questions about a student’s qualifications, a representative will reach out to the applicant and their family.
